Judaism for School was proud to be invited to a range of powerful events staged for Holocaust Memorial Day 2020 last week.

Moving testimony was delivered by Jewish Holocaust survivors at the national event staged in Westminster. Prince William and the Prime Minister were amongst the speakers who stressed the importance of “Standing Together” against prejudice .

At the Haringey HMD event victims of all genocides were remembered, and moving words were spoken by Daniella Abrams from the Roma community, one of the many groups targeted by the Nazis.

We must continue to educate our young people about the perils of prejudice and tyranny. Through our popular workshop,”Journey to Safety” Judaism for Schools tackles the difficult issue of Jewish child refugees from Nazi Europe , giving students the opportunity to learn about this era through art works, documents and religious artefacts .

75 years on from the liberation of Auschwitz , these stories and messages still resonate with us all.
