This week Year 8 at The Archer Academy had hands-on workshops at Muswell Hill Synagogue, for their thematic learning topic Sacred Texts.

The students explored the synagogue itself, handled artefacts linked to the construction and importance o the Torah, and even learned how to scribe in Hebrew using feathers quills and ink.

“There are so many things here that we do too” one Muslim student commented. Ms Vandervelde, from The Archer, declared the visit “a triumph”, with one local mother declaring her son “came home buzzing” from the morning.

We even made it into the local newspaper!
