Welcome 2019!
We’ve had a productive start to 2019 at Judaism for Schools!
We welcomed 270 Year 9 students from Fortismere School to Muswell Hill Synagogue to hear testimonies to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. This year’s theme was “Torn from Home” and we heard from Nadia Abisch, a hidden child, and Jenny Gough, daughter of camp survivor Jack Banach-Bennet.
Amongst their workshops delivered this month, the Year 6 girls from Saint Christina’s also enjoyed a hands-on session delivered by Ruth at Muswell Hill Synagogue.
We also travelled further afield, working with pupils and teachers at St Nicholas’ RC Primary in Sutton Coldfield where we were very warmly received.
February is shaping up to be just as busy, with bookings across London.
Tomorrow Ruth is attending the Mitzvah Day Awards at JW3 as the interfaith project she spearheaded with Wightman Road Mosque is nominated for the Interfaith Award. Fingers crossed !
